The Estives Fishing: In Action

Located in the Volcanoes Natural Park in High Auvergne, in the north of Cantal, on the border with Puy de Dôme, the Lake of Estives and its country cottages and Bed and breakfast, can accommodate you, throughout the year, for a weekend or a week vacation.

Its traditional country cottages, comfortable and entirely equipped are laid out on the hill overseeing the lake, (see photo above). The village is composed of 10 country cottages with accommodation for 6 people. You can rent for a night or for a week. You can park your car near your cottage and you can bring your pet, dog or cat.

Far from the roads, close to the water, in the middle of the wood and the large prairies of Cézallier, you'll enjoy the serene tranquillity of the mountains and the sheer beauty of the scenery.

Each country cottage is composed of three bedrooms of which one in mezzanine, plus a large family room with a kitchen, friendly meal area and a large settee to relax. Toilets, bathroom (shower, wash-hand basin, washing machine) complete the equipment. The bedrooms have two queen beds and twin beds on the mezzanine. An individual central heating. will make sure you'll never be cold even in the middle of winter.

In spring, summer and fall, meals can also be taken outside, on the terrace where lawn furniture is available. On the edge of the lake, nested in the fir trees, the small wooden country cottage can be the place for one romantic weekend. The new swimming pool is very near from the cottages. The closest shopping is in Marcenat (8km) and bread and croissants are baked daily on the premices.

In the valley, just by the lake, far away from any road, 6 static caravans, each backed to a wooden veranda, let you have a very peaceful holidays. Only the sounds of the small river and the birds can be heard.
The unit is well equipped: electricity, gaz and heating.
It can accomodate 4 people and a fifth in a folding bed in the veranda.
The kitchen (fridge, cooking) and eating area are in the veranda. A barbecue can be used to do your cooking outside.

The toilet & shower block is equipped with mains sanitation, showers, wash-basins, dish washing.
The caravans are open for rent from april.

In addition to flyfishing, you'll have plenty of activities on the spot or at short distance of the Village of Estives. During the good season, you can discover the breathtaking scenery of Cézallier and the Cantal Volcanoes on foot or on a mountain bike. And in winter, you'll start crosscountry skiing from your cottage door, making your path in the fresh snow and enjoying the great vistas of the snow covered fields.
In the vicinity, at a short driving distance, 8 or 10km, Movie theater, tennis, and 2 riding schools are availables. Lastly, you can enjoy a day riding an old railway on bicycle-rail!

New Year: 460€, February: 400 to 450€, Spring Halloween: 320€

July(1st week: 400€ 2, 3 and 4th week): 550€, August (1, 2, 3 and 4th week : 550€ 5 th week): 400€

Xmas: 400€, Off season: 250€

The off season rates doesn't apply when a long week end is included, ex: Easter, May 1st and 8th, Ascension (May 17th) or Pentecôte (May 27th). In these cases the rate is 320€.

Easter and Pentecote week-end are 200€. May 1st and 8th and Ascension week -end: 240€

From the 7th guest, 25€ extra is required

Week-end from 100€ for a one couple and children, 140€ for a two couples and children and 170€ for a three couples and children.

Bed sheets rental: 10€ the set.
