La Croix Julot is a farmhouse set in the countryside just outside the small "citie de characteur" of Jugon les Lacs. All rooms are "en suite" and have twin beds. The house features include stone walls, a fireplace dating from the 17th century and views over the surrounding countryside. The garden, which surrounds the house, has won prizes for its flowers, style and being chemical free.

Situated in the countryside near Jugon les Lacs, La Croix Julot is an old Breton farmhouse now converted to become a very comfortable "Chambres d'Hôtes". There are 4 twin-bedded rooms with exposed beams and scenic views, all with private shower and toilet. The comfortable lounge with an oak ceiling and old stone fireplace, has games and books for guests. In the dining room, with granite arch and stone wall, a continental breakfast is served. French windows overlook the patio and the countryside beyond.

Outside there is a large, colourful, organic garden with panoramic views, ponds and sitting areas for sun and shade. The garden has won awards in the commune and 2nd prize in the larger "pays de Dinan" competition. It teems with small bird life. Ancient trees and the orchard offer a change of scene. Some of our guests go no further! Saint Igneuc, our village, is a 5-minute stroll. There is an excellent Routiers restaurant about a 10 minute walk away.

Jugon, "Petite cité de caractère" has beautiful old buildings, and is 30 minutes walk down a leafy lane or 5 minutes in the car. We offer peace and ranquillity yet we are easy to find, and within reach of many of Brittany's attractions.

At La Croix Julot, we have four twin bedded rooms upstairs. We have retained some of the original features (exposed beams, or stonework), and all have a private shower and toilet. The rooms are bright and comfortable, with views over the courtyard or open countryside. Each room has facilities for making hot drinks.

There is a lounge for guests with the old fireplace still in use. Exposed beams and stone walls give the house character, and underfloor heating gives added comfort out of season.

Jugon-les-Lacs: Jugon les Lacs, 2 km from us, is a "Small town with character", a title awarded to towns with a range of quality historic buildings. Jugon church and its calvary statue are listed historic monuments dating from the 12thC and are well worth a visit. The 'Hôtel de l'Ecu' a popular restaurant, is one of the oldest granite houses in Jugon, built using stones from the now long gone château. The imposing 'Hôtel Sevoy', and the 'Hôtel de la Tête Noire', a medieval staging inn and the oldest building in Jugon, are other examples.

The lake, first dammed in the 13thC, has sailing and canoeing, and overlooking it is the heated swimming pool. Fishermen and nature lovers should make sure they visit the Maison de la Pêche, with displays and local fishing advice. They also run many activities such as nature walks, moonlit canoe expeditions & fishing courses.

A stroll round Jugon with its bars, restaurants, banks and shops also reveals the rivers disappearing under houses or flower-festooned bridges. Jugon les Lacs has won many prizes for its flower displays.

Cyclists will find a haven here: as well as the excellent road network, Jugon les Lacs is an accredited mountain biking centre, with bikes for hire, and a range of route maps available.
