Apartment in Couches Details

The Apartments: En La Marre is an early 19th Century Farmhouse on the estate of Chateau de Dracy in a truly tranquil rural location. It has been converted into six lovely apartments for couples; they are spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. Balconies and patios are equipped with garden furniture and gas barbecue's. There are guests' laundry facilities on site and plenty of sunloungers around the pool, a herb garden for your culinary creations and ample car parking.

On arrrival at EN LA MARRE all guest are invited to a welcome drink or two at 6 pm to meet other guests and be updated on local events, markets, general information etc.

Restaurant bookings gladly made, winetasting recommendations or visits arranged. We hold a communal barbecue on Thursday evenings for those interested and weather permitting - each couple contributes a food dish and some wine, including your dear hosts; anyone with a talent such as singing, playing an instrument, story or poetry-telling etc is given an ideal opportunity on this occasion to entertain us all.

En La Marre vacation Accommodation with Pool & Tennis: Burgundy is not a tourist-orientated region and so has not been spoilt by the commercial tourist industry. Here we enjoy uncluttered roads, time and space, unpolluted air, fields of cattle and corn, streams and forests, wild flowers, bird life and animals in their unspoilt natural habitat. Of course we humans are also part of the great French way of life. The wine and food of the region are the best in the world; ask any Burgundian, and he is right. A gastronomic paradise awaits you; wonderful wines to discover, visiting and tasting with the wine grower himself, enjoying the different wines from the villages.

Apartment Pinot Noir: This apartment with its fine old ships' timbered beams is situated on the first floor of the original farmhouse in what was originally the granary in its previous life.

Apartment Chardonnay: This spacious, light and airy apartment is situated on the ground floor of the original farmhouse. It features 2 wood/coal burning stoves, and a wealth of white-painted timber beams. The apartment is cool in the summer and cosy at other times. The large patio runs along the front of the apartment and faces onto the courtyard with views over the fragrant herb garden and open country.

Apartment Pigeonnier: Full of character, this independent apartment was converted from a former stable with the addition of a round tower. It is situated on the far side of the courtyard and herb garden.

These apartments are situated on the first floor of the converted barn. They offer very spacious accommodation with wonderful views over the open countryside.

The Location: En La Marre is situated 45 minutes from BEAUNE, 1 hour 15 minutes from DIJON, 30 minutes from CHALON SUR SAONE and 20 minutes from AUTUN.

The property is situated close to the small country town of COUCHES, (4 kms), where there are all basic facilities - a bank with cash points, 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, 2 doctors' surgeries, 3 restaurants, a newsagent and bakery.

By Email: confirm availability by emailing us on the Contact Form. A booking form will be emailed to you and this is to be returned to our address in France (details on the booking form) with a cheque for the NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of £150 per apartment per week (U.K. residents only).

By Credit Card: those living outside the U.K., but not in the euro zone, can pay their rental deposit of €150 per apartment per week through WORLD PAY, our on-line secure payment system (see To make an On- Line Booking). For those in the euro zone the deposit of €150 is to be paid by bank transfer to the owner's French bank account - details on request.

On receipt of the completed booking form and deposit, by whichever method, a written confirmation will be sent which includes details of the rental balance to be paid in EUROS CASH or Euro Travelers Cheques (Not Credit Card) upon arrival at En La Marre.

Cancellation Policy
Notice of cancellation in writing must be received not less than 12 weeks prior to the start of the rental period. If a cancellation is notified less than 12 weeks before the rental period the hirer will be liable to pay the balance due unless the period can be re-let.
